Newcastle coach drops Bellamy hint

Newcastle assistant manager John Carver admits he would sign Craig Bellamy without thinking twice if he was the boss.

Carver clashed with Bellamy when the Welshman was playing for Newcastle, but he says there are no hard feelings.

“Craig can be narky but he has a passion and determination to get better and that sometimes leads him to flare up,” Carver told The Sun.

“The incident between us at the airport in 2004 is well documented but ever since then we have been close. There were no hard feelings at all.

“If I was a manager he’d be the first person I would sign.”

Bellamy has been loaned by Manchester City to Cardiff, but with the Bluebirds unlikely to find the cash to make the transfer permanent, the Welshman could be available for sale in the summer.
