Newcastle continue Martial pursuit

According to a recent report from El Nacional, Newcastle United have emerged as the favourites to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United.

The Frenchman is believed to be on his way out of Old Trafford after falling even further down the pecking order so far so this season. While he’s had a few minutes of play here and there, he hasn’t exactly been able to thrive in the setup – and Ralf Rangnick doesn’t appear to be all too interested in feeding him back into the system.

Newcastle have enough money to last them a lifetime but they also know that they need to bring in established Premier League talent. Martial hasn’t been hitting his top form for a while but if he can get some time in a brand new setup, perhaps the door will open for him and he can start to revive his career.

Then again, it could end up being one of the catalysts behind a further decline for the Magpies.
