The Chronicle has suggested that Newcastle are keeping close tabs on Hamburg forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
The Magpies are short of options in the final third in spite of recruiting Aleksandar Mitrovic from Anderlecht and they aim to address the issue in the winter transfer window.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle are weighing up a move for Hamburg’s Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
The 23-year-old has shown a great deal of potential since joining the club from Hertha and the Magpies seem to believe he has what it takes to succeed in English Premier League.
At the same time, they are looking at Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost, but prizing the Dutch footballer away from Volkswagen Arena will be no easy task.
While Lasogga has bagged 20 goals in 49 Bundesliga appearances for Hamburg, the Wolves star has been especially impressive over the last year or so, netting 18 times in last 24 league outings for the club.
