Captain of the Italian side Torino Kamil Glik is a target for Newcastle United, La Stampa has reported.
The 28-year-old Poland international is being watched by the host of European clubs and Newcastle United have also joined the race to sign the highly-rated defender at the end of the season.
According to reports from La Stampa, Glik was close to Premier League last season when Tottenham Hotspur tried to take the Torino defender, adding that a move to England is once again on the cards as Newcastle United’s new boss Rafa Benitez is keen on bolstering his backline with the experienced player.
Former Real Madrid manager is hoping to save his team from relegation to the Championship and hopes that Kamil Glik will become his first summer signing at Newcastle United.
Kamil Glik has recently signed a new deal with his club that is due to keep him in Torino until 2020, but the club are believed to be keen on selling their prised asset for an offer higher than €10 million.
Torino and Poland captain has this season played 28 Serie A games and has reportedly already stated his desire to leave the club at the end of the season in order to look for a fresh challenge in his career.
