Alan Pardew is looking to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie in this January transfer window as Demba Ba looks set to join Chelsea, that’s according to The Sun.
It is believed that Ba is currently in contract talks with the European Champions and he could make a move to Stamford Bridge in the next couple of days.
That is why Pardew is already eyeing up a replacement and he could try and lure Odemwingie away from the Hawthorns.
The Nigerian has just 18 months left on his current contract, so the Baggies might be keen to do a deal and cash in on the striker, as he will only go down in value with the less time he has on his deal.
There is no doubt that Odemwingie can be a top class forward on his day and he has been a key man in West Brom’s successful season in the English Premier League.
It is thought that Newcastle might be able to secure his services for just £3 million, which could prove to be a bit of a bargain.
It all depends on the future of Ba and whether he does make his expected move to Chelsea.
