Newcastle United have lost Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon this summer, the two of their best players from last season, as well as manager Rafael Benitez. But, after signing Joelinton for a club record fee from TSG Hoffenheim, it looks like Magpies will be getting another player in soon.
And this one should be from France. According to RMC Sport, Newcastle United have had an €18m bid for Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin accepted. Newcastle have identified the 22-year-old as someone who can potentially improve them, as the former U-20 France international has done well for Nice last season.
RMC Sport claim that the deal is set to include considerable add-ons, which will improve the transfer fee based on Saint-Maximin’s performances in black and white jersey. The Frenchman is expected to sign a six-year deal, which would keep him at St James’ Park until June 2025. Saint-Maximin scored six goals and recorded five assists in all competitions last season.
