Newcastle join race for Bolasie

Newcastle United have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Yannick Bolasie, according to the Metro.

The DR Congo international has been in fine form for the Eagles this season, with four goals in thirty league appearances, a tally which includes a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Sunderland earlier this month.

Since moving to Selhurst Park from Bristol City in the summer of 2012, the 25 year old has played for the club one hundred and eight times in all competitions, while he has been capped sixteen times four his country.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for his services, though Newcastle are keen to steal a march on their rivals with a bid in the region of £15m.

John Carver’s side loss to Swansea City on Saturday afternoon was their seventh in succession, and they now sit just five points above the relegation zone with just four games left to play.
