La Provence is reporting that Premier League outfit Newcastle are showing interest in Marseille midfielder Mario Lemina.
The Magpies scouts have been closely monitoring the matches of OM last season with the club having considered moves for Nicolas N’Koulou and Florian Thauvin.
However, La Provence has learned that Newcastle are now hot on the trail of midfielder Mario Lemina.
The 21-year-old only started 13 league matches last season, meaning that Marseille would probably consider any serious offer for his services.
Lemina has spent last two years at Stade Velodrome having arrived from Lorient, making 38 league appearances and scoring 2 goals.
His suitors Newcastle recently completed the signing of Netherlands hotshot Georginio Wijnaldum from PSV Eindhoven, while they are being linked with moves for Charlie Austin and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Magpies will be hoping for serious improvement after they narrowly avoided the drop last term and they can be backed at 7/2 to achieve a top 10 finish.
