Newcastle United are being linked with a swoop for Monaco midfielder Chris Malonga, reports France Football.
Boss Alan Pardew has been impressed by the quality of players that have arrived at St James Park from France’s top flight and he looks set to continue shopping across the channel.
France Football understands that the Magpies are pondering a move for Monaco footballer Chris Malonga.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan with Swiss side Lausanne Sport, where he has scored 7 goals in 24 league appearances this season.
This has led to Sion and St Gallen both express interest in the highly rated midfielder, but Newcastle, too, have joined the race.
Malonga has a deal until June 2014 at Stade Louis II, and with Monaco tipped for heavy summer recruitment, it is unlikely he will be too keen on returning to the club.
He has a habit of scoring goals from midfield, which is something that has certainly not gone unnoticed by Newcastle boss Alan Pardew.
