Newcastle United have made a formal approach for AC Milan striker M’baye Niang, according to Talksport.
The France U21 international has barely featured for the Serie A side so far this campaign, racking up just twenty-four minutes across three substitute league appearances.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with Montpellier, where he scored five goals in twenty-two appearances and he is now set for another temporary move away.
Olympiakos and Udinese have also been linked with the former Caen forward, though managerless Newcastle are keen to beat them in the race to secure his services as they look to push on in the second half of the season.
Having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, the North East side return to league action with Saturday’s trip to league leaders Chelsea, where they can be backed at 14/1 to take all three points.
