Newcastle United are considering a bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards, according to the Mail Online.
The 25 year old has been at Eastlands his entire career, and was handed his first team debut by Stuart Pearce in October 2005.
He has since racked up 234 appearances in all competitions, though his number of league outings had dramatically decreased in recent seasons.
He is yet to appear in the top flight this season, while he only played seven times in the entirety of the 2012/13 campaign.
While injury was a factor in his limited game time last season, he is behind Pablo Zabaletta in the City pecking order, and, whilst he is happy battling with the Argentinian could be swayed by a lucrative offer from the Magpies – a move which could also see him reignite his England opportunities.
He has thirteen full international caps, but has not appeared since Pearce again selected him, for a 3-2 friendly defeat to the Netherlands last February – his only senior game in almost three years.
