Northern Echo is reporting that Newcastle United are weighing up bid for West Bromwich striker Salomon Rondon.
The Magpies are in the market for a high-profile centre forward considering that Islam Slimani has already left the club and Aleksandar Mitrovic is expected to follow suit.
And with West Brom’s relegation having triggered a £16 million release clause in Salomon Rondon’s contract, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is seriously thinking about recruiting the Venezuelan.
The 28-year-old managed 24 goals in 108 Premier League appearances for the Baggies, but his performances were better than the goals return would suggest.
Few more Premier League clubs are expected to join the chase for Rondon, who is almost certain to remain in England this summer.
