Newcastle, Kinnear expected to recovery in April

Heart problems led to triple bypass surgery for Newcastle gaffer Joe Kinnear, but now after weeks of rehabilitation, assistant manager Chris Hughton has revealed that he expects Kinnear to be back in action sometime in mid-April.

“The indications are – and I haven’t heard anything different to that – is that he would return round about the Stoke or Spurs games,” said Hughton to BBC Sport.

“Joe is still in that period where his rehabilitation has gone very well but he has had big surgery and there are days when he is better than other days,” Hughton added.
