Newcastle United are considering a double raid on Chelsea as they look to strengthen for next season, according to the Mail Online.
The North East outfit, who avoided relegation to the Championship on the final day of the recently concluded campaign, are yet to appoint a new manager though they are already eyeing ways to improve their underperforming squad.
Steve McClaren is expected to be named their new manager in the next forty-eight hours, and his first task could be to oversee a potential move for Blues duo Marco van Ginkel and Patrick Bamford.
Van Ginkel may be available on loan after spending last season with AC Milan while Bamford, who played under McClaren at Derby during the 2013/14 campaign, would command a fee of around £10m.
Having survived by the skin of their teeth last season, Newcastle can be backed at a price of 7/2 to be relegated next May.
