Voetbal International is reporting that Newcastle United are pondering a move for NAC Breda midfielder Nemanja Gudelj.
According to the same source, Newcastle scouts watched the player in Breda’s 3-0 defeat to ADO Den Haag at the weekend with a view of making a bid in the January transfer window.
Nemanja Gudelj was on the verge of joining Fiorentina in the summer transfer window, but the move ultimately fell through.
Viola are expected to return for the footballer who can also play central defender and right-back, while AZ Alkmaar and Twente are also keen.
The 21-year-old was widely tipped to leave Breda in the winter transfer window, but he admitted he could stay until the summer after his father was appointed head coach at Rat Verleigh Stadion.
Nemanja Gudelj has scored 4 goals in 59 Eredivisie appearances for the Dutch club, while netting two times in 11 appearances for Serbia Under-21 side.
