Newcastle United are interested in signing Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. It has been reported that Newcastle have made an enquiry about signing the USA international central defender.
Carter-Vickers has come through the youth academy at Tottenham, but the 23-year-old has yet to establish himself in the North London club’s first team. The youngster is out of contract at Spurs at the end of next season. Celtic and several clubs in Major League Soccer are interested in the USA international.
The Tottenham youngster wanted to continue to play in Europe and a move to MLS does not interest him at the moment. Newcastle are a big club who are looking for a new centre-back, and a move to St. James’ Park would see Carter-Vickers play in the Premier League on a regular basis.
