Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that Portugal international star Felix wants to leave Atletico and his agent, Jorge Mendes, is actively trying to find the 23-year-old a new club in the middle of the season.
Felix, who can operate as a forward, winger or attacking midfielder, played for Portugal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The 23-year-old has been on the books of Atletico since 2019 when he moved from Benfica, but head coach Diego Simeone has not always played him to his full potential and is quite defensive-minded.
The 23-year-old has made five starts and seven substitute appearances in La Liga for Atletico so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process. Felix has made three starts and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Atleti so far this campaign.
