According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Mauro Icardi this summer.
The belief is that Paris Saint-Germain have given the Magpies the opportunity to bring the Argentine to Tyneside now that he has been deemed surplus to requirements with the French champions.
Icardi has two years remaining on his PSG contract and with over 200 goals to his name throughout the course of his career, you can understand why any club in the major European leagues would be interested in bringing him in.
He’s just 29 years old, too, and in the Premier League there’s a lot of room for him to thrive with a team like Newcastle who continue to go from strength to strength under Eddie Howe.
Icardi would mark one of their biggest signings to date and we’re just interested to see whether or not they can get it over the finish line.
