Newcastle ready to push for Lingard

According to a recent report from The Times, Newcastle are ready and willing to make Jesse Lingard their highest earner.

The belief is that the Manchester United star is at the top of their priority list when it comes to targets and given how much has been spoken of his potential departure, it’s all beginning to add up.

Newcastle want to make a notable splash during the January transfer window and one way of doing that is by going after someone like Lingard. He’s viewed as a player who has been “held down” and hasn’t been able to fully explode into life this season, as he did when on loan with West Ham United.

There’s no guarantee of success for the Englishman on Tyneside but if he comes in with a real chip on his shoulder, there’s a good chance he could thrive as the Magpies begin their push to get out of the relegation zone.
