Daily Express is reporting that Newcastle plan to recall defender James Lascelles from a loan deal at Nottingham Forest in January.
The Magpies signed one of England’s hottest prospects in the summer, but immediately loaned him back to The City Ground.
However, with Newcastle conceding goals for fun in the opening exchanges, manager Alan Pardew wants the player back at St James’ Park as soon as possible.
James Lascelles reportedly didn’t even want to join the Magpies, but he had no say in the transfer, and he won’t be too keen on leaving Nottingham Forest at a time when they are vying for promotion to the Premier League.
The 20-year-old largely impressed last season, making 29 starts in the Championship, but he has struggled for playing time this term, having only made three substitute appearances in the league.
Lascelles has so far featured in one match for England Under-21 side, and was an unused substitute in the 2015 European Championship play-off matches against Croatia.
