Newcastle set to revive Berahino interest

Newcastle United are ready to smash their transfer record with a bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, according to the Mail Online.

The North East club were keen to land the Baggies man for £18m in the summer, and that offer is very much on the table.

The twenty-two-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from the Hawthorns over the past few transfer windows, and this could finally be the month he departs with Newcastle one of many monitoring the situation.

Berahino is closing in on one hundred appearances for the Midlands outfit, and scored his thirty-third goal for the club in Saturday’s 2-2 FA Cup third round draw with Championship strugglers Bristol City.

Internationally, he has represented England at every level from U16s to U21s but is yet to make his senior debut despite being called up by manager Roy Hodgson in November 2014.
