Sky Sports has learned that Newcastle United are set to announce the capture of Spanish forward Joselu from Premier League rivals Stoke City.
The Potters are believed to have accepted a £5 million proposal from St James’ Park, while the Magpies in turn agreed personal terms with the striker.
Joselu had failed to impress at Britannia Stadium after joining from Hannover, but he did well to get his career back on track during a loan spell with Deportivo La Coruna.
The 27-year-old now arrives at St James’ Park to increase competition for places up front, and hopefully help the Magpies avoid returning to the Championship.
Following the opening loss to Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United can be backed at 21/10 to defeat Huddersfield Town on the road.
