Newcastle have launched a fresh assault on long-term target Bafetimbi Gomis, L’Equipe revealed on Tuesday.
The Magpies have had several unsuccessful attempts to lure the experienced striker to St James’ Park, but it appears they are not ready to give up just yet.
And with Gomis set to be available on a free transfer, Newcastle have reportedly offered the player a lucrative four-year contract.
Should he accept the offer from St James’ Park, the 28-year-old will be earning around €4.5 million per campaign, while he will also receive a €2.5 million signing-on fee.
And while Gomis is likely to be tempted by the proposal, L’Equipe has suggested he would prefer a move to Turkey, where Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are keen.
Bafetimbi Gomis, who is also on the radar of QPR, bagged 14 goals in 33 league outings last term, extending the run of scoring at least ten league goals per season to eight successive campaigns.
