The Chronicle understands that Newcastle are stepping up their efforts to sign striker Loic Remy on permanent deal.
The Frenchman has been in stunning form since arriving on loan at St James’ Park, and it is hardly surprising the club officials are looking to turn his loan deal into permanent move.
Newcastle have reportedly opened talks with the player’s representatives, but they are aware winning the chase for Remy’s signature will be no easy task.
The 27-year-old is eager to explore all options before making a decision on his career, as he is holding out for an offer from one of England’s top clubs.
Remy has taken almost no time to adapt to the Premier League, having bagged 6 goals in 14 outings for QPR before netting 11 times in 21 games for Newcastle.
The experienced forward has so far scored 4 goals in 21 matches for France and he has a good chance of making the country’s World Cup squad.
