Granit Xhaka’s time at Arsenal could be nearing its end. The Switzerland international of Albanian descent is in a tough position at the Emirates after the recent events in the match against Crystal Palace. Arsenal drew 2-2 in that match and after his angry reaction to fan abuse Xhaka has been stripped of his captaincy by manager Unai Emery. Now, Xhaka could be on his way out.
According to The Times, Newcastle United are weighing up a January swoop for the Arsenal midfielder and take the best out of this current situation. Xhaka is now expected to leave the Gunners once the transfer window opens again. The Magpies are reportedly eager to make a move for him and try their luck in luring him to St James’ Park.
That still seems like an unrealistic proposition, at least from this current perspective. Xhaka is still thinking about what he should do in the following months and he still might choose to remain at Arsenal.
