Premier League high-flyers Newcastle are keeping tabs on Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud, L’Equipe reports.
The Magpies have enjoyed a remarkable start to the season and they currently occupy the 4th place in the Premiership standings, with club chiefs looking to add some more quality to the side in January.
Boss Alan Pardew is very satisfied with his French contingent, which includes Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa, Gabriel Obertan and Sylvain Marveaux, and is now looking to sign another French player.
According to L’Equipe, Newcastle are showing interest in Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud.
The Magpies have had the 25-year-old watched in every game this season and they are ready to step up their interest in January.
Giroud has been in scintillating form this season, having scored 11 goals in 14 league games and is currently leading the goalscoring charts in Ligue 1.
