Newcastle told they must pay £16m for Remy

Newcastle United will have to pay around £16m if they want to secure a permanent deal for Loic Remy, according to ESPN.

The France international moved to St James’ Park in the summer, and has scored ten goals in eighteen appearances so far for Alan Pardew’s side.

The former Marseille man became Newcastle’s only new addition in the summer, moving from Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan deal.

A return to Loftus Road, at least on the field, looks unlikely though the North East outfit will have to spend big if they are to keep the 27 year old on Tyneside.

Remy took his season’s goal tally into double figures with a brace against Stoke City in front of the Newcastle faithful on Boxing Day.

Manchester City make the trip to St James Park on Sunday lunch time, and Remy can be backed at 7/1 to get the first goal of the game.
