Newcastle United welcome Crystal Palace to St James’ Park in the Premier League this afternoon, and are desperate for a win to boost their hopes of survival. The Magpies are still fighting for survival, and could take a massive step to safety with a much-needed victory.

Newcastle are 19th in the Premier League table with 30 points from 35 games, and are one point adrift of safety. Rafael Benitez’s have won one and drawn two of their last three games, and have picked up 11 points from their last six home outings in the division.

They’re in good form at a perfect time to face a travel-sick Crystal Palace side still stuttering in 2016. Manager Alan Pardew returns to face his former side, but his men can’t seem to buy a win on the road. The Eagles have failed to win in their last nine away games, and are underdogs to get a result at St James’ Park.
