Newcastle United are interested in signing Jonathan David from Lille in the January transfer window, according to GiveMeSport. The report has claimed that Newcastle admire David and are keen on adding him to his squad in the middle of the season.
David has been on the books of Lille since 2020 and has established himself as one of the better forwards in French football. The Canada international forward has scored five goals in three starts and three substitute appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season. The 24-year-old scored 19 goals and provided four assists in Ligue 1 in 2023-24 and scored 24 goals and gave four assists in the league in 2022-23.
Newcastle are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season. Eddie Howe’s side are seventh in the standings at the moment with 11 points from six matches, two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and four points behind leaders Liverpool.
