Competition: Premier League
Market: Newcastle and Tottenham to draw
Odds: 2/1 @ Bet 365

Newcastle United welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, in a game that could be difficult to call. Tottenham are favourites as they finished second last season while United were getting promoted to the top-flight from the Championship. But Newcastle’s impressive head-to-head record could well see them pick up something in this weekend’s opener.

Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United side earned promotion to the Premier League after finishing top of the Championship table with 94 points from 46 games. The Magpies picked up 48 points on home soil last season and have been a real bogey team for Tottenham down the years, winning their last two meetings when they were back in the Premier League.

As for the visitors, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side finished runners-up in the Premier League last season and won five of their last six away outings. However, this summer has seen them suffer two defeats in their previous three pre-season outings, coupled with the off-field distractions of grievances over a lack of signings and speculation surrounding the future of Danny Rose.

As a result, Bet 365 are giving odds 2/1 for Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur to draw at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.
