Newcastle United have had a bid accepted for Blackburn Rovers defender Grant Hanley, according to Sky Sports.
The twenty-four year old has spent his entire career so far at Ewood Park but now looks set to sign for the North East outfit, who were relegated to the second tier at the end of last season.
His appearance in Rovers’ final game of the the season – a 3-1 win over Reading – was his two hundredth for the club in all competitions while he has scored nine goals.
Internationally, he has been capped twenty-three times for Scotland with his one and only international goal so far coming in a 2-1 World Cup qualifying defeat to Wales in March 2013.
Should the deal be finalised, he will become the sixth new arrival of St James’s Park this summer following Dwight Gayle, Matz Sels, Jesus Gamez. Matt Ritchie and Isssac Hayden.
