Newcastle United are interested in signing Ivan Toney from Brentford in the January transfer window, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that Newcastle manager Eddie Howe wants to sign a goalscorer in the middle of the season, and that he personally wants the Magpies to bring in Toney. Newcastle are reportedly considering a bid for him when the transfer window opens in January.
Toney is serving a ban at the moment and will not be available to play until January 2024. The striker was on the books of Newcastle from 2015 until 2018. Toney failed to make a huge impact in the first team at the Magpies. After loan spells at Barnsley and Wigan Athletic among other clubs, he joined Peterborough United in 2018.
The England international striker has made 68 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Toney has scored 32 goals and given nine assists in those games.
