Newcastle United have decided not to make a move for Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. Lingard, who can also operate as a winger, is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season, and although Newcastle have been interested in securing the services of the 29-year-old on a free transfer, they have decided against taking their interest further.
The report has claimed that Newcastle have baulked at the hefty wages that Lingard is demanded. The Magpies have decided not to pay what Lingard is looking for. 90min have added that West Ham are keen on signing the attacker and have already started talks.
Lingard has made two starts and 14 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Manchester United this season, scoring two goals in the process.
