Newcastle United are interested in signing Divock Origi from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror. Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion and Fulham are also reported to be looking at securing the services of the Belgium international, with Premier League champions Liverpool open to selling him for a transfer fee of £30 million.
Origi has been at Liverpool since 2014, but the 25-year-old has failed to establish himself in the first team at the Merseyside club. However, the striker did play a huge role for the Reds in their Champions League success in 2018-19 and also helped Jurgen Klopp’s side clinch the Premier League title last season.
Newcastle recently signed Callum Wilson from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, and the Magpies also have Andy Carroll and Dwight Gayle on their books. Although Gayle is injured at the moment, the Magpies could do without Origi.
