Newcastle United are interested in signing Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail. Eddie Howe’s side are looking to sign a new striker for next season and beyond, and Isak is one of the names that PIF are looking at.
Isak has made 19 starts and five substitute appearances in La Liga for Sociedad so far this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the process. The 22-year-old Sweden international striker scored 17 goals and provided two assists in 30 La Liga starts last season.
Newcastle are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with 31 points from 29 matches, as many as nine points above the relegation zone. Sociedad are currently sixth in the La Liga standings with 48 points from 29 games and could still clinch a Champions League place.
