Newcastle United are finalising a deal to sign Harvey Barnes from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that talks between Premier League club Newcastle and Championship side Leicester are progressing and that the Magpies hope to get a deal done for £35 million.
Barnes made 32 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leicester last season. The winger scored 13 goals and gave one assist in those games. During the 2021-22 campaign, the England international made 24 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Foxes, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists in the process.
Newcastle finished in the top four of the Premier League table last season and will play in the UEFA Champions League next campaign. As for Leicester, the former Premier League champions got relegated from the top flight of English football last campaign and will play in the Championship next season.
