Newcastle United are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion forward Salomon Rondon, according to Sky Sports.
The North East outfit are on the lookout for reinforcements with Aleksander Mitrovic set for a permanent switch to Fulham after the Serbian spent the second half of last season on loan at Craven Cottage.
Rondon has been with West Brom for the last three season, racking up one hundred and nineteen appearances and scoring twenty-eight goals.
He was the Baggies’ joint top scorer in the league last term with seven goals, though that was not enough to save them from relegation to the Championship.
The twenty-eight-year-old has a release clause of £16.5m, though Newcastle may try to negotiate a player-plus-cash deal with Dwight Gayle a potential makeweight.
Gayle played in all but three league games for Rafa Benitez’s men last term, scoring six goals though twelve of those outings came as a substitute.
