Newcastle United are interested in signing Sandro Tonali from AC Milan in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that Newcastle are in talks over signing the 23-year-old defensive midfielder and are progressing well in those negotiations.
90min have reported that Tonali’s camp have told Newcastle that the Italy international is open to a move to the Magpies in the summer of 2023. Eddie Howe’s side finished in the top four of the Premier League last campaign and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season. Newcastle director of football Dan Ashworth is currently in Italy to personally try to make the deal happen.
Tonali made 30 starts and four substitute appearances in Serie A for Milan last season, scoring two goals and providing seven assists in the process. The Italy international defensive midfielder also gave two assists in 12 UEFA Champions League matches for the Rossoneri last season.
