Newcastle United in talks over Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi

Newcastle United are interested in signing Marc Guehi from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. The report has noted that Guehi would be open to a move to the Magpies.

The Times has noted that Guehi has two years left on his contract at Palace, who are looking for more than £70 million for the 24-year-old England international central defender. Newcastle are favourites for the defender after Liverpool decided not to pursue him.

Guehi has been on the books of Palace since 2021 when he moved to Selhurst Park after leaving Chelsea. The 24-year-old has developed well during his time at Selhurst Park and has established himself as one of the better centre-backs in the Premier League. The centre-back has made 98 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Guehi has scored three goals, given two assists and kept 22 clean sheets in those games.
