Newcastle United are interested in signing Cedric Soares from Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to TuttoMercatoWeb. The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that although Soares has a contract at the Gunners until the summer of 2024, he will leave the Gunners at the end of the season.
The report has claimed that Newcastle have targeted Soares because he can play in a number of positions. The 30-year-old is a right-back by trade, but he can play as a left-back as well.
Newcastle are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 43 points from 34 matches, while Arsenal currently find themselves fourth in the standings with 60 points from 33 games.
