Newcastle United interested in Reims striker Hugo Ekitike

Newcastle United are interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Reims in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The Magpies came close to securing the services of the 19-year-old striker in the January transfer window and remain keen on bringing the teenager to St. James’ Park at the end of the season.

Ekitike has made 14 starts and seven substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Reims so far this season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in the process. The striker is one of the best young players in Europe and has huge potential.

Newcastle will reportedly have to pay £30 million to Reims for Ekitike. The Magpies plan to sign the teenager on a season-long loan deal with the obligation to make it permanent in the summer of 2023.
