Newcastle United are leading the race for Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe personally wants the England international playmaker at St. James’ Park.
Leicester will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League. It is very unlikely that the former Premier League champions will be able to keep some of their best players, including Maddison, who is one of the best playmakers around.
Maddison made 28 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham this past season. The playmaker scored 10 goals and gave nine assists in those games.
