Newcastle United are interested in signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window, according to Cadena Ser (via AS). Felix is on loan at Chelsea from La Liga club Atletico at the moment, and Premier League rivals Newcastle are keen on securing his services on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
Atletico are willing to sell the Portugal international forward in the summer transfer window. While the former La Liga champions were initially looking for €100 million in transfer fees for Felix, they would now be ready to cash in on him for €70-80m. Atletico head coach Diego Simeone does not fancy playing Felix again.
The 23-year-old has made 10 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Chelsea during his loan spell so far, scoring two goals in the process. Felix has also made three starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the Blues.
