Newcastle United linked with Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic

Newcastle United are interested in signing Nemanja Matic from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to 90min. It has been reported that former Chelsea midfielder Matic was offered to Newcastle in the summer transfer window, and that the Magpies see him as possible option in January.

Premier League club Newcastle have been taken over by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and have been linked with a number of players, including Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Barcelona attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Matic has been on the books of United since 2017, but the Serbian is 33 now and is not guaranteed a place in the Red Devils’ starting lineup. The former Chelsea star has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season, providing one assist in the process.
