Newcastle United are readying a move for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend, according to the Mirror.
The twenty-four year old has barely featured for the North London club so far this season, making just three appearances in the Premier League all of which coming as a substitute.
He has started just three games in all competitions, while he was dropped from the match-day squad for Thursday’s Europa League tie with Anderlecht following a bust-up with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner after Spurs’ 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Monday evening.
Townsend has played ninety-three times in total for Spurs, while he has made almost as many appearances in various loan spells with no less than nine clubs and has been capped ten times for England.
West Bromwich Albion, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland are also keeping an eye on Townsend’s situation and could all table a bid when the transfer window reopens in January.
