Newcastle United stand-in manager Joe Kinnear has said that money will have to be spent on new players when the transfer window opens again in January if the club is to avoid relegation.
Speaking to The Sun Newspaper Kinnear said that the squad was in desperate need of being strengthened, especially in light of all the injuries suffered by the club prior to his arrival.
He added that they would need at least five players and he had already started investigating in which areas they would need the most. The team needed to have a healthy situation where there is competition for places.
