Newcastle United are set to open a new round of talks with Alexander Isak over a fresh contract, according to GiveMeSport. Newcastle are keen on keeping hold of Isak and are determined to convince him to put pen to paper on a new contract.
GiveMeSport has reported that Arsenal and Chelsea have been interested in Isak, and that Newcastle are fearful that the Gunners and the Blues “will reignite their interest in acquiring his services if they are unable to reach an agreement over personal terms”.
Isak is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and has been superb for Newcastle over the years. The 25-year-old Sweden international striker has scored one goal and given one assist in five Premier League matches for Eddie Howe’s side so far this campaign. Isak has scored 32 goals and provided four assists in 57 appearances in the league so far in his career.
