Newcastle United are set to sign Nick Pope from Burnley in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic. The report has claimed that Premier League club Newcastle have ‘agreed a fee in principle’ for goalkeeper Pope with Championship outfit Burnley.
Pope will now reportedly undergo a medical at Newcastle, who hope to get a deal completed by the end of the week. The England international will compete with Martin Dubravka for a place in the Newcastle first team next season.
Newcastle finished last season 11th in the Premier League table with 49 points from 38 matches, while Burnley ended the campaign third from bottom in the standings with 35 points from 38 games.
