Newcastle United want Lille midfielder Renato Sanches

Newcastle United are interested in signing Renato Sanches from Lille in the January transfer window, according to Calciomercato. It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Newcastle are willing to pay more in salary than AC Milan for Lille star Sanches.

Premier League outfit Newcastle have reportedly requested information about the midfielder. Lille want €35 million (£29.84 million) for the 24-year-old Portugal international. Sanches has made four starts and three substitute appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season, providing one assist in the process. 

AC Milan are a bigger club than Newcastle and are also doing much better on the pitch. Milan finished in the Champions League places last season and are aiming to win the Scudetto this season. Meanwhile, Newcastle are at the foot of the Premier League table with just seven points from 14 matches.
