Newcastle United are interested in signing Bamba Dieng from Marseille in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that Premier League club Newcastle are planning to make a bid of £15 million for the 21-year-old Senegal international striker.
Dieng is part of the Senegal national football team for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations. Newcastle are considering whether to sign the striker in the January transfer window or in the summer of 2022. The 21-year-old signed a new contract with Marseille only last month.
The striker has made seven starts and seven substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Marseille so far this season, scoring four goals in the process. Dieng has also made three starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for the French club this campaign.
